Continuing to Serve Members

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will make future announcements like this as any new procedures may develop.

Additionally, we encourage you to continue using our convenience services:

ACU Annual Meeting April 21

Dear Members,

As we have all experienced, Covid-19 has caused most people to change the way they interact with the rest of the world, but it has also given us a chance to learn and use the technologies in our lives which we might not consider otherwise.

ACU is no exception.

Our regulators at the Texas Credit Union Department have temporarily approved credit unions to hold their Annual Meetings virtually, and we have chosen to use this option for the sake of your health and that of our employees and board. You will be able to attend this year’s Business Meeting via a video link on Zoom.com or by phone on Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30pm.

The meeting will be very brief and there will be no door prizes or other drawings. The Standard Credit Union Bylaws, Section 3.06, state that when there is only one nominee for each open seat, there will be no nominations from the floor and the Chairman will declare those chosen by the Nominating Committee to be elected by general consent. Since there have been no additional nominations in advance via petition, there will be no election at this Annual Meeting – it will be informational only.

You will need a passcode in order to attend the meeting, either by phone or computer. This meets regulatory requirements that we verify that those counted as part of the quorum are members, and it ensures the online security of the meeting. You can request a passcode by completing an online form via Docusign, which is a highly secure site that allows you to provide information to us without exposure to hackers.

Click the link below to request a passcode via an easy online form. None of your information will be used for advertising purposes, only to provide you with access information. Please do not forget to list any other members in your home who will also attend.

If you have any questions, please contact Tamra Gannon at: 469-429-3204. Tamra will also be available at the same number on the night of the meeting, in order to provide help to anyone having trouble accessing the meeting. Please sign in at least 15 minutes early, so she has time to help you with any issues that would prevent your participation in the meeting.

Sincerely,

Rebecca McCoy

President/CEO

Thank You to Our Members

We always appreciate your membership here at ACU, but never more than now during these extraordinary times. As you know, all ACU offices are providing limited services right now, and with some employees working from home or working split shifts, it can make for longer wait times for you and be rather inconvenient. We sincerely thank you for your patience. Rest assured also that ACU remains strong during this time, with our reserve assets more than double the levels required by regulators. We are among the best-capitalized credit unions in the country -- safe and sound, and here to serve you.

Remaining Vigilant About Scams

In addition to the upheaval to society the coronavirus situation has brought, it also has become an opportunity for fraudsters to deploy scams upon the general public. We urge you to stay vigilant when purchasing online or otherwise accessing information electronically. Be wary of opening email links that you did not request, as well as providing any personal information online to anyone you are not familiar with. Phishing attacks like this could spread malware designed to steal your information, and often they may appear to be from reputable and recognizable organizations.

Other scams may involve phone calls that claim to be connected to the coronavirus stimulus package but ask you to provide a processing fee to receive your payment. Again, be careful if you experience any of these scenarios. The CUNA Mutual Group, a partner to credit unions nationwide providing financial information and administrative services, has more information here and here about these timely topics.

Important Message For ACU Members

With concern about the coronavirus situation continuing to grow, we wanted to inform you of the precautions we are putting in place to help protect you and ACU staff. This well-being is our top priority and was the key factor in determining our procedures.

When you enter an ACU branch, we will always greet you with a smile, but for now, not a handshake.

We ask that everyone use hand sanitizer as they come in, which will be available, and to take other precautions such as coughing or sneezing into your elbow rather than your hands. ACU staff will also be using these procedures, as well as regularly disinfecting lobby counters and other surfaces that are used frequently.

If you are sick, it is advised that you stay home to avoid potential contact with others. An alternative to visiting a branch, whether you are sick or not, is to take advantage of ACU’s convenience services, including:

These services help you make deposits, withdrawals, schedule loan payments and a host of other account transactions, all from the comfort of home. Using an ATM is also a good option, with surcharge-free locations readily available.

Please use the links above to learn more about these services if you do not have them already. As always, if you need assistance or have questions about any of our services, call us at 972-494-5328 or 800-543-2811. In Springfield, call 417-881-0482. We will update you as necessary with any new information on this matter.

We wish you and yours safety and well-being.
